About Me

About Me

My name is Chris Rea and I have been training and working with dogs on a daily basis for over a decade. Dogs, training and behaviour have always been my passion of mine and I currently work for a well-known animal rescue. Alongside this I have been working 121 with dog owners in the comfort of their homes since 2018 offering behavioural consultations here at Stay Positive - Dog Behaviour and Training. I have helped many frustrated dog owners have better relationships with their dogs.

I have appeared regularly on the BAFTA nominated and Royal Television Society award winning Channel 4 show where rescue dogs are matched to their potential new owners.
Over many years I have worked with hundreds of different dogs of all shapes and sizes, helping to identify, understand and improve their behaviours through training, and communicating effectively with you as their owners.
I am proud to be certified as a CAPBT (COAPES Association of Applied Pet Behaviourist and Trainers) registered behaviourist, and a member of both the UK Dog Behaviour & Training Charter 2023 and an associate member of ICAN (Internation Companion Animal Network)

Any advice and training I offer you is backed up by and based on all the current scientific research that is available and has proven results.

Qualifications

I have studied to level 4 in companion animal behaviour and achieved a qualification through COAPE and I am a registered CAPBT behaviourist (COAPE's Association of Pet Behaviourists and Trainers) I got this qualification in 2016 after gaining years of experience working hands on daily with dogs.

Membership into CAPBT is solely by qualification, therefore as a result all Pet Behaviourists and Trainers are qualified to some of the highest standards available in the UK.

As a CAPBT Behaviourists I use our unique EMRA™ (Emotion, Mood and Reinforcement Assessment) approach which is a holistic approach focusing on your pets emotions, which is effective in reducing the problem behaviour whilst improving the animal's general feelings of wellbeing.

I am also an associate member of ICAN (International Companion Animal Network) For more information on these organisations please visit their websites:

“We booked, Chris for a session 5 months after getting our puppy Jack Russell. His service was quite simply impeccable. Within 20 minutes he had already taught our pup to sit-down on command using treats and simple hand movements. As well as providing amazing advice and instructions for training he also gave industry leading knowledge and highly in-depth sophisticated ideas with regards to our dogs dietary needs that we had no idea was so important.
We ready couldn’t recommend, Chris enough, weather it be for training or even just simple advice to do with your dogs health and well-being.
We will 100% continue to use, Chris in the future and he will be our first point of call when we get the next Pup to join our family.”

“I used Chris for some help with my border collie puppy. I had several bad habits I wanted to kick before she got too into them. His help was amazing and the habits were kicked within a week!! He also helped me with a lot of training and sh   e's so obedient now and I put that down purely to the fact of his help, he gave many tips and options to try as all dogs are different. Very friendly and overall outstanding experience.”
